Raghu and Yama ganda kalam are both inauspicious period during which time no auspicious activies are started. Both occur for 90 minutes daily and varies from day to day. Sun Rise time is used to compute 90 minutes. Raghu is the 8th graham and Yama is connected to Kethu graham which is 9th graham. Gulikan is devoted to Bhagvathi and there are day and night Gulikans. Gulikan is not forbidden for auspicious activities but for inauspicious only. If pithru karma is done by mistake during Gulikan it has to be repeated after lapse of the Gulikai muhurtham. If some important task is to be done in the Raghu or Yamakandam kalam, it can be done as our elders have given ideas to face them. Just worship one's diety and recite Kolaru Pathigam (10 verses on Lord Siva) or stotras.
