*** Diameter of Sun is 108
times that of earth
Distance between earth and sun is 108 times of the diameter of the sun
Distance between earth and moon is 108 times of the
diameter of the moon
This vedic cosmology matches approximately with modern
science.
This Vedic Cosmology let us see scientifically
1) Diameter of Sun is 1392000 kms. Equatorial Diameter of
Earth is 12756.28kms. Dividing we get 109.11
(Nearly 108 and
the difference is 1.11)
2) Diameter of Sun is 1392000 kms. Mean Distance
between earth and Sun is 149597870.691 kms. On
dividing we get
107.4697346918……. Rounding off we get 108. (difference 0.54)
3) Distance between earth and moon is 384403 kms.
Diameter of Moon-3474 kms. On dividing we get
110.651410.(difference
2.65)
Shortest distance between earth and moon = 356399
kms
Longest distance between earth and moon =
406699 kms
Average distance between earth and moon = 384400
kms
Multiplying 108 * 3474(diameter of moon) = 375192
kms. So this may safely be assumed the distance between earth and the
moon at the time of creation of universe. Also note the fact that there is a possibility
of change in moon orbits over the last 10000 years plus variation of 11%
between apogee and perigee in Moon’s orbit. So 108 is the unit of creation.
*** The Sun and the Moon are connected to the earth by
approximately 108 times their own diameters. When you look at the Sun and the
Moon from earth they are perceived as the same size, this is because of their
distance. In the zodiac the large solar signs (rasis) find the same size as the
smaller lunar signs (nakshatras) with the number 108. Even though the Sun
(1,392,000 km ) is 400 times smaller than the Moon (3,474.8 km), they are
perceived the same by their division of 108 times their own diameter. This just
physically reveals that the Purusha (Sun) and Prakritti (Moon) are using the
vibration of 108 to create and maintain life as it is on this earth. 108 is not
sacred because of this distance and this
distance (of a 108 the luminaries own diameter) are existing because it is the
vibration in which all life as we know it is brought into existence.
*** The number 9 is revered in Hinduism and considered a
complete, perfected and divine number because it represents the end of a cycle
in the decimal system, which originated from the Indian subcontinent
as early as 3000 BC.
** Harshad
number: 108 is a Harshad number, which is an integer divisible by the sum of
its digits (Harshad is from Sanskrit, and means "great
joy") River Ganga: The sacred River Ganga spans a longitude of 12
degrees (79 to 91), and a latitude of 9 degrees (22 to 31). 12 times 9 equals
108.
*** Number 9 is
the last single digit and also the highest.
