Even
now people going to office can wake up and complete upto brahmayagnam and do
madhyanikam in sangva kalam)between 8.24AM-10.48AM) and finish madhyanika pooja
also. This is the relaxation now for office goers. After returning from office, evening duties
may be performed. For all these one has
to have the dedication and desire in the mind.

DO’s AND DON’Ts IN DAY TO DAY LIFE - PART 6
After
meals a Brahmin has to read puranams and teach appropriate things for other
varnas. Again in the evening after snanam sandhyavandhanam, opasana human,
agnihothram should be done. Then other
evening poojas, vaisvadevam etc should be done and finally night tiffin. On ekadasi one has to be very strict and if
nothing is taken during the whole day it will bring more good.
DO’s AND DON’Ts IN DAY TO DAY LIFE - PART 5
Then
one has to again do ‘Snana’ for madhyanikam and do madhyanikam. After that do
pithru tharpanam for liberations of forefathers, pooja, homam in fire,
tharpanadhigal using water, for which he has to dedicate to the deities all
those objects that he perceives with his five senses(pancha indhriangal). By this one would have finished Brahma yagnam,
pithruyagnam(tharpanam), Devayagnam (pooja, homam etc). By the time he finished
all these 4 parts of the above period would have been over. In pancha-yagnam there will be two yagnams
viz., manushya yagnam and bhudayagnam which have to be performed.
DO’s AND DON’Ts IN DAY TO DAY LIFE - PART 4
So
if we take approx 6o clock as surayodhayam, Brahmamurtham starts
from 4oclock. The period
between 4AM to evening 8PM is divided into 8 parts. In the first part of time
we do Devayagnam.
DO’s AND DON’Ts IN DAY TO DAY LIFE - PART 3
We have
already seen how the time is divided and what is ‘Nazigai’ etc. 60 Nazhigai constitute one day. i.e., 24
hours. One should get up atleast 5 Nazhigai (2 hours) before dawn
(Suryodhayam). There is a saying ‘panca panca ushath kaale’ which means that 5
x 5 =25 Nazhigai. In others, it is the
period after dusk (suryasthamana) of
previous day. The latter part of day
consists of 30 Nazhigais (12hours) and out of which 25 nazhigais after sunset
of previous day is what is referred to above.
DO’s AND DON’Ts IN DAY TO DAY LIFE - PART 2
Please
refer to my posting in November 2011 about Samskarangal wherein it has been stated
that there are 48 (40 + 8) ‘Samaskarangal’.
A gist of the some of the ‘samskarangal’ was written at that time and later I that some more topic may be included before attempting to go in detail about
each. People used to do all their
duties earlier but slowly they are leaving one by one and more questions are
asked than to obey the rules and procedures.
Now there is no duty performed for each varna and all of them are doing
all the work. They have to look for
earning, better living and save for future and providing better opportunities
for children. People also wonder if
all samskaras and nithykarmanustangal
are possible to do and ask which one is most important, whether they would be able to
do and what are all the samsakaras which are not possible now-a-days.
DO’s AND DON’Ts IN DAY TO DAY LIFE - PART 1
First and foremost follow
the foot steps/activities of our poorvacharyas as much as we can (not as much
as we want to).
Respect other Bhaagavathaas
Irrespective of their birth, position, social status, caste etc as all devotees
of God are to be treated as GOD HIMSELF.
Bhagavath/ Bhagavatha Apacharam
happens in many ways. It us very
important that we don't commit such apacharam. Any bhagawatha apacharam is also
considered as bhagavath apacharam. LORD
likes that His devotees are to be respected than HE himself.
IS THERE OTHER TYPES OF ACHAMANAM - 3 OF 3
The
Achamanam is described in Smrits. Another
type of Achamanam is prescribed by
Shruti which is done at the end of Brahmayagyam, (after doing morning
sandhyavandanam and reciting one vedic portion daily and purushasukta). This is
described in the Taittirya Aranyaka (2nd prasnam 15th
panchati). Here also water is sipped
thrice, lips are wiped twice, touch head, eyes, nostrils, two ears and the
heart. This is called Shrouta Achamanam. Here sipping of water and touching of various
parts of body is without uttering any bhagwan nama. Hence it is done while Brahmayagya only. Touching of only 8 parts of body as against
12 parts in the previous Achamanam. There
is yet another type of Achamanam as per puranas where we touch various parts of
the body uttering 24 names of Vishnu.
DO'S AND DON'TS OF ACHAMANAM - 2 OF 3
Achamanam is the simplest starting vaidika
karmas but most significant one as no rituals can be started with out this and
all rituals also ends with this mantra.

WHAT IS ACHAMANAM - 1 of 3
Lord has so many names and our Rishis have
identified 15 powerful names. Out of
this 3 are most used by us and we use it for Achamanam in our daily routine and
both in the beginning and ending of all vedic religious rites.
Achamanam is nothing but cleaning the inner
body. It is a puriies both internally
and externally. It means taking a small quantity
of water three times saying name of the Lord each time. It energies our body and and help in
maintaining good health. It cleans the food pipe so that solid food passes through smoothly.
KALI SADHU?
"Kali sadhu " said vyasa bhagavan... All other sages were stunned... When it has been predicted that dharmas will deteriorate, how the greatest sage termed it as sadhu?
In the previous yugas, the methods of attaining moksham were different. That is by performing uncompromising tapas, yogam etc for longer period of time and strenuous efforts. But in this Kali yuga, ‘Nama Sangeerthanam’ or ‘Nama’ Jabam and sharanagathi (meek surrender)/surrender performed at the lotus feet of acharyan ensures the jeevan attained Moksham/Heaven.

HOW TO IDENTIFY A STROKE? SIMPLE 4 WAYS - ACT FAST
According to Neurological experts, if a person has had a stroke and receives treatment within 3 hours, they would be able to save them and return them to normal condition. All one needs to know is how to identify a stroke, and once you know it has happened - rush the person to the hospital immediately, so they can be saved in time.
So how do you identify a stroke?
At times, it can be quite hard to identify the symptoms of stroke. Unfortunately, this may lead to brain injury and death.
Today, neurologists recommend 4 simple steps to identify if the person has had a stroke:
1. Ask the person to smile.
2. Ask them to say a simple sentence and repeat it a few times.
3. Ask them to raise their arms above their head.
4. Ask them to stick out their tongue. If the tongue is crooked, meaning leaning to the right or left, that is a clear indication of stroke.
If the person has trouble doing ANY of these, call the emergency number right away and describe the symptoms so they send an ambulance.
Please share this important information, it may save someone one day.
